Is CBD safe?
Most research surrounding CBD has concluded that CBD is perfectly safe for topical and oral consumption with no known side effects, though some users have reported dry mouth, reduced appetite, drowsiness, and fatigue. As CBD is prone to risks surrounding purity and dosage, consumers should do their research to make sure the company they are buying from is reputable and that the product was made from industrial hemp with less than 0.3% THC content.
You should consult with your doctor, or other qualified health care professional before using any root product.
At root we pride ourselves in our transparency to our users and the integrity of our products. We conduct independent 3rd party tests on our products in addition to the tests obtained through product manufacturing to make sure that we are confident in the quality of our products.
You can find them here, here, and here.
We source our products in the USA, from a legal state to ensure the legality of our product.
Why CBD?
CBD is a 100% naturally-occurring chemical compound that comes directly from the cannabis plant. Rest assured, our CBD is not synthetically made.
Though we cannot stake claim to the benefits associated with CBD, we can provide customer feedback as well as our own experiences with incorporating CBD as a natural alternative into our daily lives.
From where is the product sourced?
We source from farms in Kentucky
Why Kentucky?
Kentucky is at the forefront of hemp growing and production. In 2014, Kentucky passed a bill to allow for the growing of hemp, paving the way for many Kentucky CBD farms. Our farms are apart of the Kentucky Growers Group which focuses on sustainable farming and the purity of their product. Our sourced growers are the pioneers of the CBD industry and employ cutting edge technology in their CBD efforts.
How does CBD work?
Our CBD friends on the internet have done a great job explaining how exactly CBD works in the body. Project CBD is a great resource for your CBD research as they are a non-profit organization strictly dedicated to documenting the research progress on this incredible plant. Is CBD Legal?
Yes, CBD oil is made from industrial hemp which is federally legal, & products containing CBD that have less than .3% of the psychoactive compound THC is legal as well, but we also recommend checking your specific state laws.
Unfortunately, your employer may take a different approach when drug testing. We will get to drug testing in a bit.
Does root contain THC?
We have several different types of products. Our isolate products contain 0% THC and our full spectrum product has less than the federally mandated .3% THC. As noted above, we take our product quality seriously and have independently checked our products’ THC content, amongst other important quality markers. Please see our test results posted on the website.
Will I pass a drug test?
Unfortunately, we cannot say for sure what your drug test results will be after consuming our product(s). In the likely event that your drug test only tests for THC, due to our high-quality CBD with minimal THC, it is unlikely that CBD will show up on a drug test.
Some other drug tests actually test for CBD as well. We recommend calling the testing facility anonymously and asking for which specific cannabinoids they test for. In rare instances, users of CBD Isolate (0% THC), have tested positive in drug tests.
If you're worried about a drug test we also suggest buying a cheap urine test from Amazon so you can self-test.
Research has shown that people who consume 6 mg of THC per day have a 25% chance of failing a drug test. This translates to about 2,000 mg per day of CBD oil with a THC content of 0.3% or less. That’s a lot of root!
How much should I take?
This is tricky because, as you know, everyone is different and it depends on what you are using the product for. We have a recommended dosage associated with each of our products, but we recommend starting at lower dosages and working your way up to higher dosages as you become more comfortable.
Which should I use? Capsules or tinctures?
That's completely up to you and your preference! The capsules last a bit longer and are helpful when managing consistent dosages. The tinctures work faster and are a bit stronger, but the effects of the tinctures do not last as long as the capsules.
We recommend the sublingual method with our tinctures which includes placing the oil drops under the tongue and holding for 60 seconds before swallowing.
What is the shelf life of your products?
When stored in a cool dry place, our products will last 2 years.
